Telit LE910C4, LE910C1, LE910C1-EUX and FN980 new compositions support in Linux

In the past few weeks Linux kernel drivers option and qmi_wwan were patched to add support for new compositions related to the following Telit modems: Telit LE910C4, LE910C1, LE910C1-EUX and FN980.

Telit LE910C4

Telit LE910C4, LE910C1

Compositions 0x1203, 0x1230 and 0x1231 were added to option with patch “USB: serial: option: add LE910Cx compositions 0x1203, 0x1230, 0x1231“.

Basically the three compositions present the classic set of Telit serial ports (diagnostic, AT parser, GNSS) and they differ in the network device: RNDIS for 0x1203 and 0x1231, rmnet for 0x1230, added to qmi_wwan with patch “net: usb: qmi_wwan: add Telit LE910Cx 0x1230 composition“.

Compositions 0x1230 and 0x1231 shows also an audio device (check-out post LE910C1 Linux audio capabilities through USB).

Telit LE910C1-EUX

Compositions 0x1031 and 0x1033 shows a reduced set of serial ports (diagnostic, AT parser), added to option with patch “USB: serial: option: add Telit LE910C1-EUX compositions“, and a network device: rmnet for 0x1031, added to qmi_wwan with patch “net: usb: qmi_wwan: add Telit LE910C1-EUX composition” and ECM for 0x1033 (cdc_ether does not need to be patched since the device is bound to the driver through the USB descriptors).

Telit FN980

Composition 0x1055 shows just serial ports (diagnostic, AT parser, GNSS), added to option with patch “USB: serial: option: add Telit FN980 composition 0x1055” and an adb device.

No network interface is available, since this is a composition to be used in conjunction with the modem connected through the PCIe bus in which the network device is available.
